Chef Tanka Sapkota organizes charity dinners in support of the victims of Nepal

On September 1st, 2026, Nepalese chef Tanka Sapkota once again combined gastronomy and solidarity for a cause that is particularly close to his heart, promoting charity dinners at the restaurants Casa Nepalesa, Come Prima, Il Mercato and Forno d’Oro, in Lisbon, in support of the populations affected by the floods in Nepal.

The initiative raised a total of 28.896 euros, which was entirely donated to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, contributing to support for affected communities and the response to the consequences of the tragedy.

This gesture reflects Tanka Sapkota’s deep connection to his origins and the commitment to solidarity that has marked his journey in Portugal, transforming the table into a space for sharing, unity, and concrete help for those who need it most.

The initiative received widespread coverage in the national press, which highlighted this gesture of solidarity and the mobilization promoted by Chef Tanka Sapkota in support of the affected populations in Nepal.
